I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. And I’ve been doing a lot of changing. It seems the winds of change are in my future. And as always, I’m hesitant. However, I’m not as scared and distant to the change as I have been before. And I’ll tell you why.
As I grow older, I begin to see that my life is just starting to begin. There’s no possible way that my life and especially the people in it will remain the same. Things are always going to change, sometime at a faster rate than I would hope for.
With that being said, I am pleased to say that although I do not enjoy change, I have learned to let go of the gripping resentment that things will never be the same. Friends will move, jobs will let you go, and long relationships since childhood will soon be a memory. But amidst my ever-changing life, wonderful new things are blossoming. I am making way for new opportunities, thrilling adventures and heartwarming friendships. This, my friends, is a very good thing.
So as you sit there and sigh about all of life’s changes, please remember this. If life were to stay the same, people would be boring and nothing great could ever happen again. Be grateful for change. It might be the best thing that’s ever happened to you.
