Oh come on, you know you want to.

I’ve always been weary of auctions. It might just be me, but a loud man screaming numbers at me to make a fast decision as to whether I want an old lamp or not, doesn’t sound like my idea of a good time.

Let’s face it,  I’m better off watching auction reality shows, than participating in them. Plus on top of all that, you could probably find that same lamp at a Ross Store at half the price.
So you can imagine how skeptical I was when my friend Melissa from Sugar & Geek Candle Company, suggested I come check out the quarter auction hosted by Quarters for a Cause Orlando.

In a wonderful twist of events, I ended up having a fabulous time! And all it takes to win $60 worth of stuff is quarters! The event has vendors from all different kinds of markets, so you’re sure to find something you like. You also get to support your community’s local businesses, and make new friends in the process. The admins of the Facebook page are very reliable when it comes to event, vendor and charity information, so be sure to like their page to stay in the know.

Check out my (long and disorganized,) take on the whole experience and see why it’s so awesome. Also be sure to follow the Quarters for a Cause-Orlando Facebook page by searching with their handle: @quarterauctionorlando.

It’s a fun night out with your friends or awesome date night idea, and you’ll be helping a charity by bidding on stuff you know you already love! Seriously what could be better than that? Oh yeah, did I mention many of the vendors put wine in their baskets? See you there!

(And seriously, you already have a lamp so it’s fine.)

Stay curious,
